ACADEMIC COUNSELING
Message from the 7th and 8th grade counselors:
Parents, the press, administrators and the general public often wonder just what it is that school counselors do on a daily basis. Gone are the days of school counselors sitting in their office simply handing out college applications, making schedule changes for students who want to drop a class or meeting with the troublemakers in the school. Today's school counselors are vital members of the education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
THERAPY
Message from the counselor:
Sometimes in life, there are unwanted and unplanned events. These events can be overwhelming and stressful. Through counseling your child will discover his/her strengths and resources to navigate the often challenging road from childhood to independent adult life. By talking about his/her thoughts and feelings, your child will be more inclined to find solutions to their problems.
Parent involvement in their child's development which includes early interventions such as acedemic, social, emotional, and family support will strengthen you child's development and growth. Together, hope is built that things CAN get better.
